1. Where is the ferry terminal?
Departing from Singapore
Harbourfront Centre
Our Harbourfront ferry terminal is located in the south of Singapore, exactly at HarbourFront Centre which overlooks Sentosa Island. Harbourfront Ferry Terminal has always been the main gateway for travelers traveling to neighbouring islands such as Batam and Karimun. It also acts as the main entry point for cruise ships.

Sindo Ferry counter is located on the 3rd floor (Lobby C).
Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal
Another ferry terminal will be Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal which is located at the Eastern part of Singapore, not far away from Changi Airport. It serves as a gateway to travellers departing and arriving from Bintan via Sindo Ferry.

Getting to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal
Departing from Indonesia:
Batam Center Ferry Terminal (Batam)
Batam Center Ferry Terminal is located on the north coast of Batam Island, Riau Islands Province. This terminal connects the city of Batam with the HarbourFront ferry terminal, Singapore and the ferry terminal in Johor Baru, Malaysia.
Getting to Batam Center Ferry Terminal: Taxi, taxi-bike or other public transport.
Sekupang Ferry Terminal (Batam)
Sekupang Ferry Terminal is located in the northwestern part of Batam. This terminal is serving trips from and to Harbourfront Singapore and it takes around 45 minutes only.

Waterfront Ferry Terminal (Batam)
Getting to Waterfront Ferry Terminal: Taxi, taxi-bike or other public transport.
Tanjung Balai Karimun Ferry Terminal
Tanjung Balai Karimun Ferry Terminal is located at the easternmost part of the Karimun Island. This terminal connects between Singapore, Batam and Malaysia. The journey time is about one hour and a half hours from and to Harbourfront Singapore.

Tanjung Pinang, Bintan
Sri Bintan Pura Ferry Terminal is located in the city of Tanjung Pinang, on the west coast of the island of Bintan, Riau Islands province. This terminal also has travel routes to Singapore (Tanah Merah) and Malaysia (Stulang Laut).

2. How early do we need to get to the terminal?
You are strongly advised to reach the ferry terminal 60 minutes before the departure time.
If you have luggage to check in or have not collected your boarding pass, there is no harm to be there at least 90 minutes before the departure time, especially on the weekends or public holidays.
Tips: Immigration gate closes 20 minutes before the departure time. If you miss it, your ticket(s) will be forfeited.
3. What is the check-in closing time?
The check-in counter will close 30 minutes before departure time. The departure gate will close 20 minutes before departure.
4. Is parking available at the terminal?
Harbourfront Centre
Ample parking space is available at Harbourfront Centre. For parking fees, please visit their website.
Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal
There is an open air carpark with approximately 900 car park spaces. It may be taken up pretty quickly on the weekends and public holidays. For parking fees, please visit their website.
Batam Centre / Sekupang / Waterfront Ferry Terminal / Tanjung Balai / Tanjung Pinang
Yes, but the parking area is limited and normally will be full during weekend / eve & public holidays. We recommend you to get to the terminal by taxi or other public transportation.
5. Is the terminal and ferry accessible for wheelchair users?
The wheelchair in the terminal is subjected to the availability. Please let us know in advance if you require a wheelchair. Our customer service officer will accompany you to clear the Immigration (if you travel alone and require our assistance) and our ship crews will assist your embarkation and disembarkation.

7. What's Sindo Ferry counter operating hours?
Our operating hours are as follow:
Harbourfront Centre : 06:30hrs to 2130hrs
Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal : 08:30hrs to 17:30hrs
Batam Centre Ferry Terminal : 05:00hrs to 19:30hrs
Sekupang Ferry Terminal : 05:00hrs to 17:30hrs
Waterfront Ferry Terminal : 12:00hrs to 13:30hrs
Tanjung Balai Ferry Terminal : 06:30hrs to 14:00hrs
Tanjung Pinang Ferry Terminal : 06:00hrs to 13:30hrs

9. Is Singapore dollars accepted in Indonesia (Batam/Tg.Pinang/Tg.Balai)?
Indonesia government requires Rupiah (Indonesia currency) payment for all transactions made in Indonesia. There are sanctions for those who refuse to accept and pay Rupiah.
You can, however, purchase more Rupiah with your Singapore dollars at one of the money changers.

11. Is there a child or infant ticket?
Currently we offer standard price to all the passengers regardless of their age.
12. Can we have a discount for group travel ?
If you have 10 or more people travelling together on the same trip to the same destination, you can take advantage of our flexible payment rules, our low fares and our friendly service. 13. I still cannot confirm my trip schedule, can I leave it OPEN status? What should I do?
Yes, you may leave the return trip as OPEN. Please let our customer service know and they will arrange that accordingly. For tickets with an OPEN DATE, you are allowed to book any trip to the destination stated in the ticket before the expiry date. Once you know when to travel, please present the tickets and your passports to Sindo Ferry counter for check-in. You may also check in the departure trip first and leave the return trip as OPEN. Please remember that this is an open ticket and your check-in is subject to availability.
14. Do we need to book or could we just make reservations on-the-spot at Sindo Ferry counter?
Reservations can be made on-the-spot at Sindo Ferry counter but it is subject to seats availability. It is recommended that you make online reservations in advance at www.sindoferry.com.sg or via Sindo Ferry App. We accept online payment with major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Amercian Express, UnionPay as well as GrabPay, PayNow, Apple Pay and GooglePay) and your booking will be confirmed instantly. Upon receiving your payment, our system will email you the boarding pass. All you need to do is print the boarding pass and you are ready to travel.

16. Do I need to present my passport when purchasing ferry tickets at the Sindo Ferry counter?
A valid passport for all passengers (including children and infants) is required to be presented when purchasing ferry tickets with Sindo Ferry as we will need to do an identification and issuance of boarding pass.
17. Can I collect my boarding pass in advance without presenting the travellers’ passports?
Sindo Ferry allows advance collection to be done. However, it is a mandatory requirement for passengers to present their physical passports for verification and to ensure that passengers are carrying a valid travel document.
18. I have trouble viewing your site and making an online reservation. Could you help?
Our website is designed for Chrome, Safari, IE and Mozilla Firefox browsers. Please make sure you are using the latest version. Please also de-activate or turn off your pop-up blocker. 19. Do we need to collect boarding pass from Sindo Ferry counter if we book online?
If you make your booking at www.sindoferry.com.sg, our system will email you the boarding pass upon successful payment. Please check your junk folder too. Otherwise, please contact us and provide the following information:
First departure trip date and time
Destination
20. Am I allowed to clear the immigration by showing the boarding pass on the mobile phone?
For the time being, you are required to print the boarding pass. We are amidst of seeking approval from the Terminal Operator to allow passengers to board the ferry with e-boarding pass (boarding pass shown on the mobile phone).
Please contact us at booking@sindoferry.com.sg on the same day and submit the following info:
Your Booking number that ends with “OOB”
The existing particulars and the new (correct) particulars
Our team will assess the amendment request. If it’s a genuine typographical error, we will waive off the admin charge. Otherwise, a small admin fee will apply.
22. Could I enjoy NTUC discounts if I book online?
As we will require card verification, the NTUC discounts will not be eligible for online bookings.
You may, however, send us your passport particulars and trip details via email first and mention in your email that you’d like to enjoy the NTUC discount. Our team will reserve seats for you for a few days and you may come down to our counter to present your NTUC card, passports, make payment and collect your boarding pass.
23. Does the Senior citizen promo apply if I book online?
We need to check passports and verify the passengers’ eligibility, hence verification is needed, thus only available at counters. However, we still have other promotions which you may want to tap on. You can log on to www.sindoferry.com.sg to check all our ongoing promotions.
24. My kid is below 12 years old, can he/she travel alone?
It is required for kids below the age of 6 years old to be accompanied by an adult during the trip. For children aged 7 - 12 years old, parents’ consent will be required. Parents will have to fill up a form at Sindo Ferry Counter to state their consent.
25. Can I travel with my pets?
Unfortunately, due to the regulations, pets are not allowed onboard.
26. Are passengers insured onboard Sindo Ferry?
Yes, our passenger ferries are insured with Protection & Indemnity under Shipowner’s Club.

Passengers are advised to purchase travel insurance from their insurance company. You may also purchase travel insurance from Sindo Ferry at only $8. Click here for more information.
27. Do you offer Travel insurance and where and how do I make a purchase?
We offer the purchase of Travel Insurance at $8 per person. You can purchase it at our website www.sindoferry.com.sg as an add-on. Alternatively, you may also purchase the insurance from our Singapore Sales Counters. Please visit this page for more information.
Our P&I Insurance which is included in your ferry ticket only provides coverage when you are onboard the ferry. For coverage in Batam, please purchase travel Insurance. Click here for more information.

30. Do we need an international passport to enter Singapore/Indonesia?
Yes, All passengers need to hold international passports with a validity of at least 6 months from departure/arrival date.
31. Do we need a visa to enter Singapore/Indonesia?

32. Can I get a refund if I cancel my bookings or tickets?
If you have collected the boarding pass or ticket, there is strictly no refund.
33. If I can’t make it for my scheduled trip, may I transfer it to another date/time?
34. Can lost tickets be replaced?
Our ferry tickets are “OPEN DATE” with an expiry date and it is transferable. If you misplace your tickets, we are unable to issue a replacement. We strictly do not refund or do replacement for lost or stolen tickets.
35. Can expired tickets be extended?
No, all tickets are strictly not extendable once expired. We recommend you to pay attention on the ticket expiration date and use it immediately before the ticket expires.
36. Can I get a replacement boarding pass if I misplaced it?
A small admin fee of S$5.00 is payable by passenger for the replacement of a lost boarding pass.
37. Do I need to check in our luggage?
You are required to check in your baggage if it exceeds the maximum dimension of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. There will be a complimentary of 20kg of baggage allowance per boarding pass. You will need to pay S$1 per kg or part thereof for all check-in items in excess of the 20kg allowance up to a maximum of 40kg per passenger.
38. Where do I check in my luggage?
Upon collection of boarding pass, you may want to head over to the Baggage Check In Counter located near the departure gate. Please ensure that your luggage is properly packed and secured and present your boarding pass and passport.
39. Can I check in bikes, golf bags, or oversize items?
For long items that exceed 1.5m in length or large items that exceed the dimensions of 100cm x 60cm x 30cm, you will need to check in before you proceed to the departure hall. The charges for these items will be S$10 per item up to 30 kg. However, the relevant party has the rights to reject any items that may not be properly or inadequately packed or bundled for safe handling.
40. Any charges for check in luggage? Are there size and weight restrictions for luggage?
There will be a complimentary 20kg of baggage allowance per boarding pass. You will need to pay S$1 per kg or part thereof for all check-in items in excess of the 20kg allowance up to a maximum of 40kg per passenger.
41. What if my luggage is damaged during the transit, what should I do?
Terminal operator handles your baggage and Sindo Ferry acts as the Carrier. Please report to the Terminal operator if your baggage has been mishandled. You will be required to present the following documents:
a. Photos of the damaged baggage
b. Your name
c. Ferry operator’s name, departure and arrival date and time
Please do it on the same day or at last within 24 hours.

42. Who is responsible for handling my luggage?
We do provide complimentary mineral water to the passengers onboard. Snacks are available for purchase. All subject to availability.

Motion sickness can quickly turn a relaxing boat trip into a miserable experience and we want all our passengers to have an enjoyable time onboard Sindo Ferry. It is recommended that you consume seasick medication the evening before your scheduled trip and ensure that you have ample rest. 48. Is it safe to take a ferry to Batam/Tg.Pinang/Tg.Balai?
Absolutely, Sindo Ferry has been serving the public since 1999 (more than 20 years ago). All of our ferries are built in Singapore and Australia and they are properly maintained and surveyed by the International Classification Society.
49. Will you accept passengers more than your maximum capacity (overbooked capacity)?
We would like to assure you that Sindo Ferry does not and will not carry passengers more than its allowed capacity. This is against the law and will put everyone’s life at risk. Sindo Ferry’s boarding system is strictly monitored by Singapore and Indonesia authorities, ensuring that no overbooked vessels can run.
