Entering Indonesia - Covid19 Travel Restrictions

TRAVEL ADVISORIES AND RESTRICTIONS – BORDER CONTROL MEASURES

Indonesia Government has imposed entry restrictions and border closures.   If you have plans to travel to Indonesia soon, please make sure you continue reading and meet all the requirements.

Before Entering Indonesia

1. Indonesia Citizens

Indonesian citizens are welcomed to return to Indonesia. However, you are required to obtain influenza symptom-free certificate (Health Certificate) and negative PCR test result (in English language) which valids for a maximum of 3 x 24 hours from date of issuance by the GP or nearest hospital from your respective country. If you are carrying a Health Certificate and without negative PCR test results, you will undergo PCR Test / Rapid Test on arrival in Indonesia and 8 x 24 hours quarantine.  You will also be required to undergo a second RT-PCR test on the 7th day of your quarantine.

In addition to that, you will be required to show vaccination certificate (physical or digital) stating the vaccination date (complete dose).  If you have not receive any vaccination abroad, you will need to go for vaccination at the quarantine facility after getting a negative result for your second RT-PCR test.

2. Foreign Visitors

All foreign visitors are not allowed to enter and transit in Indonesia, except:

  1. Children of dual citizenship (with a foreign passport and registered as an Indonesian citizen in the immigration system).

  2. Holders of Temporary Stay Permit (KITAS) and Permanent Stay Permit (KITAP) with valid Multiple Re-entry Permit, or that has expired and is still abroad.

  3. Holders of Diplomatic Visa and Official/Service Visa.

  4. Holders of Diplomatic Stay Permit and Official/Service Stay Permit.

  5. People engaged with Medical Services and Humanitarian assistance.

  6. Airline and Maritime Crews including Land Transports.

  7. Essential Workers for National Strategic Projects (have approval from the Director-General of Immigration).

Arrival in Indonesia

Upon arrival, please prepare and present the following documents during an immigration clearance.

  • Travel documents such as a passport that is valid for at least 6 months.

  • Health Certificate and negative PCR test result (if applicable).

  • Temporary Stay Permit (KITAS) and Permanent Stay Permit (KITAP) with valid Multiple Re-entry Permit (if applicable).

  • Diplomatic Visa and Official/Service Visa (if applicable).

  • Diplomatic Stay Permit and Official/Service Stay Permit (if applicable).

  • Crew identity card or crew member certificate (if applicable)

  • Valid Indonesia visa (if applicable).

If Indonesia Citizens or Foreign Visitors are carrying Health Certificates and negative PCR test results, you will need to carry out 8 x 24 hours quarantine and undergo a second RT-PCR test on the 7th day of quarantine.
